Founded by operators who run an HVAC controls business. We built PulsAIO for the industry we’ve worked in for forty years — because nobody else was.
Bill Hickner runs Unity Controls and UTBSC out of Cape Coral, Florida. Ron Snider has spent forty years on commercial HVAC rooftops, in mechanical rooms, and in the Q&A line at controls vendor trainings. Between us, we've installed a lot of equipment. Walked a lot of buildings. Written a lot of work orders.
We kept seeing the same thing. Equipment running ten percent below where it should be. A thermostat that shouldn't have been resetting itself. A rooftop unit running 22 hours when the kitchen closes at 10. None of it on fire. None of it failing audits. All of it bleeding the building owner thousands of dollars a month — and all of it sitting in operating data nobody was looking at.
The platforms that exist today were built by software companies for software buyers — configurable toolkits that need an expert to interpret. We needed something different: a system that takes raw equipment data, tells you which thirty things to fix in what order, routes the work to the right contractor, and verifies it got fixed. So we built it.
Operates Unity Controls (building automation) and UTBSC (test & balance, certification, controls consulting) out of Southwest Florida. Two decades in commercial HVAC controls and operations. Background in installing, commissioning, and certifying the systems PulsAIO now monitors.
Forty years of commercial HVAC. Test and balance. System startup. Field service. Manufacturer training. Ron's career maps onto every piece of equipment PulsAIO touches — and his patterns of "I've seen this exact failure forty-seven times" are the seed corpus aiRon was trained on.
When Ron walks onto a roof, he can tell you in ninety seconds what's wrong with the RTU. Forty years of pattern recognition, distilled into intuition that's hard to teach. We didn't want to lose that knowledge when Ron retires. So we trained an AI on the patterns Ron has seen. We let Ron correct it for two years. And we named it after him — because the name is a promise to the customer that what's running in the platform isn't generic LLM optimism. It's how a forty-year HVAC operator actually thinks.
Honest about what PulsAIO is — and isn't.
Two regions. Many industries. One playbook.
Cape Coral. Where every customer relationship started — and where the team still meets in the same room every Monday.
First multi-site QSR portfolio. Ten locations. Live now. The proof you saw on the Enterprise page.
The platform exists for building owners. But it gets built by the technicians and contractors — the people on the ladder, on the roof, opening the disconnect. Everything we ship gets a sanity check from someone holding a multimeter. If it doesn't work for the field, we don't ship it. That's the deal.
Whether you operate buildings, fix HVAC for a living, or want to know what we're building — drop us a line.
